***Pancake Breakfast 01/20/2018 8:30-10am!***

Fly in or Drive In to our monthly pancake breakfast to benefit our Young Eagles Program on the Third Saturday of each Month.

We will be doing pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee, and juice from 8:30 to 10:30 am.

  • Following pancakes, we are hosting a joint meeting with the Quiet Birdman (QB) of Kitty Hawk and Tallahassee.  The QBs have Tom Riley from Douglas, GA coming to present his slides concerning the XP-82 (see below).  Please bring a brunch item like we do for our regular meetings.  I anticipate we will have about 50 people here for that meeting.  I hope the 797 chapter will come out in force for this presentation.

This message is from Terry Meeks, President of the Kitty Hawk QB Hangar:

EAA Chapter 797, Live Oak, FL and the 24J Suwannee Valley Quiet Birdmen Hangar have arranged for a very unique aviation presentation by Mr. Tom Reilly, the coordinator and manager of the XP-82 Twin Mustang Restoration project being conducted at the Douglas, GA airport.

This presentation will cover the entire history of this project, which is the very first such aircraft of this type produced, and of which there are only a few still in existence.  Mr. Reilly will have extensive photos delineating this project from the beginning to the current state.  This aircraft is expected to fly-in 2018.  Several members of the QB Hangar traveled to Douglas, GA several months ago and were able to spend several hours at the project with Mr. Reilly and he was very gracious in accepting our invitation to bring his presentation to us.  Please join us for this very interesting presentation.
